We had been cycling for a while through the wind, and so stopped for a little break. My funky sunglasses, which are actually men's glasses I got in the sale at Sainsburys, look pretty spectacular, even if I do say so myself. Even if you are ploughing through brutal winds, it doesn't mean you can't look bloody awesome while you do....
We must have looked shattered already, as the support van stopped and asked if we needed a lift back to base! Quite a few people had started dropping out by now, but the worst was yet to come...
