17th-19th December 2011

Saturday 17th December 2011

I get a letter confirming my appointment with the colorectal consultant for January 2012.

During the evening I am sitting watching tv with my mother in law when the bag makes farting noises - so loudly that she asked if it was the baby...I was really embarrassed that it was me. I made a joke out of it but I was mortified anyway as there is no control over it at all. Awful.

I am still very uncomfortable around the tear where there is over granulation from the infection (as my GP and Dr ***** both said when they examined me). It’s taking ages to heal and it’s still really uncomfortable to sit down so I have to constantly shuffle about all the time. I can’t wait to be able to sit down normally like I used to.

Monday 19th December 2011

We drove up to Alnwick today – 150 miles/2 ¾ hours. My stoma was in an awkward position under the seat belt, and for the rest of the day and particularly the evening it throbbed and was painful when there was a bowel motion. My granulation in the tear is also very sore today. I feel like I’m never going to heal!!!!
